Seed and Soil

There is an image in the bible of seed and soil. The idea is that we are soil, the seed gets planted in us and it grows to be something fruitful. The Christian challenge is, are you good soil?

Are you receptive?
Are you open?
Are you willing to change? Are you humble?

The idea is that the bible, prayer, and a Church community form you into a better Christian. A more “Like Jesus” person.

What about for the everyday leader, Christian or not?

  1. Read leadership books for principles, advice, and stories.
  2. Get with mentors who have experience in what you are trying to do.
  3. Get with a community that’s trying to do what you are trying to do.

When you receive a principle from a book, a word of advice from a mentor, or a challenge from your community, DO IT.

That’s what makes you good soil. That’s how you leave a legacy.

The more you ACT, the better your soil becomes.
