After running 35 miles I have been on the slow path to recovery. Sauna is something that has gotten a lot of attention, so I will throw in the mix a few things I have learned. My experience with Sauna has been improved sleep, improved recovery, and mood stability. I’ll attach a bunch of other benefits I’ve learned about
20 minutes – 4-8 times per week

- Mimics exercise
- Increase in heart rate
- Decrease Arthritis
- Decrease in Heart Disease
- Decrease in Depression / Anxiety
- Increase in different hormones. Growth hormone, Cortisol, norepinephrine, white blood cell count, and heat shock proteins.
- 18 – 40% decrease mortality rate.
- Better sleep
- Better mood
- Quicker recovery
- Improve Endurance
The Protocol:
20 minute sauna session 4-8 times per week. 80 degrees celsius or 175 degrees Fahrenheit.
