A Simple Guide for S.O.P.’s

Create Standard Operating Procedures you make in weeks and use forever. I wanted to share my learnings with you.

  1. Identify and capture your current Org Chart.
    • These are your company roles. Each one should have a responsibility.
  2. Take one of those roles and break it down into each task it performs.
    • Use ChatGPT to get a general job description
      • Example Chat GPT prompt. “Write a page length position description for a lead craftsmen”
    • Ask Chat GPT to add “KSAO’s”. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other characteristics
    • Ask Chat GPT to add “KPI’s”. Key Performance Indicators.
  3. Go to the person in the seat on your org chart and ask them to talk through their tasks. Record it.
  4. Document it or pay someone to document the recording.

*The goal is to make this as collaborative as possible. Get alignment by doing it together. The last thing you want is to work on something no one will use!
