Rolls, Beets, and Balls

Three things I’ve tried and two that work.

I started going through the book Tools for Titans by Tim Ferris. My not so secret goal is to integrate as many new tools as I can and see what sticks. The first three are from Amelia Boone. Amelia is an obstacle racer. I am trying three suggestions from her:

1. Beet Root Gummies – Beet Root helps blood flow and thus increases endurance.

2. Foam Roller – Foam Rollers help muscles to heal quicker and loosen faster after exercise.

3. Golf ball – Place a golf ball under your foot and roll it around. Loosens the muscles under your feet.

For Beet Root, I have taken about 1000mg. per day (4 gummies). For Foam Rolling, I’ve done 2-5 minutes on my calves, hamstrings, and quads as needed post exercise. I Have been rolling my foot with the golf ball I carry around in my backpack!

The Results:

I like the foam roller the best, I can tell it’s loosening up muscles.

I like the golf ball second, it’s so weird to work out tension in the bottom of your foot! It hurts like hell to.

I like the Beet Root the least. I haven’t noticed any effects, BUT, I’ll finish out the bottle and report back.

After a couple days, I have felt a little more “springiness” to my legs. My legs feel more “fresh”. I’ll be continuing to use the golf ball / foam roller combo. Not too sure about Beet Root powder.

Hope you learned something useful!
