What if you could have good days forever?
Where do you even begin making that happen?
Problem
Everyone is different. Some like to be alone, while others like to be with people. Some like to work, some like to play. You can’t determine good by other people’s standards.
Solution
“TaDa” method. I made it up, but it’s magical!
- Track
- Analyze
- Define
- Act
Track
Everyday, reflect on what you did and how you felt. Write it down.
- What were your key activities?
- What were your key projects?
- What conversations did you have?
- What was unique about your day?
- What was challenging about your day?
Analyze
Rate the day.
+ = good
++ = real good
– = bad
— = real bad
You have to pick one, there are no neutral days. It forces a decision.
Define
Do that for a week, a month, a year.
Sort the data by (++) or (–) and look for similarities.
Act
Find ways to consolidate your time into the things you love.
I like a mixture of being alone and being with people. I like thinking, working, and getting meaningful stuff done. I also love intentional time with people I care about.
Bonus: Two Observations from doing this for 3 months
- You have to fight for time doing things you love. There are many things you have to say no to.
- Life is a roller coaster. I see that usually the +’s go on for awhile, then come the -‘s. The cycle repeats itself. Everything isn’t always good or always bad. It ebbs and flows.
