The only thing you see when looking at a mirror is your reflection.
You don’t see what is behind it.
Today I talked to a co worker about caring what is behind the wall.
If I install a mirror and damage the wall behind the mirror, you’ll never know.
Does it matter or not?
In ancient Greece, builders would use a stucco substance called Scagliola. Look it up!
It would mimic the the more pure and expensive natural stones like marble. Stucco fools people.
Over time when the stucco falls apart and diminishes, the marble would remain in it’s pure form.
Time revealed what was pure, what was true.
The same is true with our work and with our character. Who you are and what you do reveals itself in great detail over time.
I urge you to create things with integrity and let it shape your work and your character.
